Michelle Ser-Hobbs (Director)
Michelle has been within the recruitment industry for over 20 yrs. She trained with one of the biggest consultancies in the UK and worked her way from junior consultant to senior manager. Since then Michelle has been a Director running teams and specialised assignments for Clients.
The philosophy of Volante Hobbs developed by Antonio and Michelle is to provide an ethical, transparent recruitment service that treats candidates with the same levels of service and respect that is traditionally reserved just for clients; the ideals of candidate care and client responsibility are the prime consideration for both the company and Michelle. Michelle is responsible for Quality Assurance and is instrumental in drafting all the policies and procedures for Volante Hobbs, her other roles within the organisation include; marketing, PR, Procurement and generally providing the basis of a comfortable environment for the sales staff.
Antonio Volante (Operations Director)
Antonio Volante has a finance background with particular experience of both working in and recruiting for the public and not for profit sectors. He has also been heavily involved with the Commercial sector.
Volante Hobbs Ltd was set up in April 2002 and Antonio is one of the original founders. Having worked both as an accountant within the banking sector and as a Manager within both large and medium sized recruitment companies, Antonio felt increasingly uncomfortable about how candidates were being treated, (not having calls returned, almost coerced into taking roles that were possibly not appropriate etc,) and developed with Michelle, the concept of providing an ethical, transparent recruitment service that treats candidates with the same levels of service and respect that is traditionally reserved just for clients.
Antonio manages all of the different divisions within Volante Hobbs Ltd including having overall responsibility for individual teams consisting of Directors and consultants.
He is responsible for ensuring that the New Business Client development work, (this covers three main area’s of the public sector i.e. Local Government, Housing Associations and the NHS), is conducted as per the Volante Hobbs ethos. This is to service both candidates and clients in an ethical and transparent manner. This includes the creation and maintenance of the Volante Hobbs Ltd Candidate and Client Care process.
Antonio is a key member of the team that recruits our Internal Staff and is closely involved with the retention and motivation of our Internal Staff. This includes Staff Training and Development and the Monthly/quarterly Staff Appraisals.
Stephen Hobbs (Financial Director/Company Sec)
Steve has been involved in the financial direction of Volante Hobbs since its inception in 2002. Having had a successful career within the public sector, Steve applied his knowledge to the commercial sector and has helped to financially guide Volante Hobbs to its present secure position within the market place.
Steve also has diverse interests as he is not only a keen and very able glassblower but is also an active gym member.
Cara Ellis
Cara has been with Volante Hobbs Ltd since Dec 2007 and is a valued member of the management team.
Having achieved an education biased towards media and media studies Cara turned her hand to recruitment and has established herself as one of the most dedicated and reliable consultants in her field.
The key to her success has been using hard work and perceptiveness to gain trust and respect from both her clients and her candidates and consequently she has built fantastic working relationships which has certainly paid dividends in this ever changing industry.
Cara has also been instrumental in building from scratch a division dedicated to Finance and HR professionals within the Public sector.
