THE PERFECT CV - Page 1/2

Is there any such thing as the perfect CV I can hear you ask? Well, obviously the definition of perfect changes from situation to situation but at VH the CV template that we use and seems to be the most successful with our clients is the one that we show below.

It sounds obvious but always:

1) Make sure you thoroughly check your spelling and grammar - employers will not be impressed by elementary mistakes.

2) Avoid using underlining or a mixture of font styles-we tend to use Font-Ariel Font size -10
.
3) Be sparing in the use of italics.

4) Avoid using Tables

5) Use plenty of white space - the easier it is to read the more chance you have of success

Ensure that your CV always includes the following details:

1) Your personal details - your name, your postal address, email address and phone numbers.

2) Your qualifications - include your A-level grades as well as all your accountancy qualifications. Exam dates and papers taken, along with the details of where you studied.

3) Your career objectives or profile - what you're looking for and why.

4) Your record of employment - the companies you've worked for and the experience you've gained.

5) Any major work achievements - e.g. if you were involved in a successful project such as new system implementation.

6) Highlight any challenges you faced and how you overcame them successfully.
