As someone who is looking for a job I need to know that you see me as a person and not just as a detail on your database. How can you know my personality and my exact needs if all we have is a brief telephone call as an interview? At VH we take a personal interest in our candidates. We actively encourage face to face meetings either here at the office or at a location more convenient to you, so that we can effectively deliver opportunities to you with the right type of client and the right job specification
How can I find out about the current state of the market, who is recruiting and what skills are being recruited? Because we have worked in small niche markets we posses specific knowledge which we actively inform you about.
I want to feel that you work ‘for’ me the candidate not ‘on’ me and just look at the jobs that you have on your database. Because we work in a consultative environment at VH we can guarantee that we will proactively search for positions for you.
I keep on being told about jobs that do not match the brief that I give to agencies. Candidates will have distinct advantage in an interview because they will know in detail the job content, the interview process, and an `insiders guide’ to the personalities within the organisation, because we always insist on meeting the clients before you do.
Interview Preparation- I never get enough detail from agencies Because we work in niche markets our consultants know the candidates within it extremely well - we operate a partnership policy with candidates also and this gives us the ability to deliver the specialist skills that you require.
I need interview feedback At VH we agree with this, the only way to build on interviewing strengths and weaknesses is as a result of client feedback and we attempt to obtain comprehensive notes for you. We also ask you to provide comprehensive feedback for the client.
I hate having to talk about annual salary and rates. I never know what to say! We negotiate on behalf of you. We want to satisfy your remuneration expectations without their being any ill feeling between you and the client.
I want to be given ‘empowerment’ to make decisions.  I do not want to be pressured into taking an assignment or a permanent position which ultimately will not be right for me. We operate a strict "No Pressure" rule - there is no point trying to make you agree to a role that is not right. You will not be happy, you will not stay and you will not use us again! We want to build a partnership with you so you feel you can use us each time you need to discuss new career choices.
